Deomornoi Degree College

Deomornoi is a place of immense historical significance located in the North Western part of the Darrang district, Assam. Nestled approximately 15 kilometers away from Mangaldai town, Deomornoi has been an integral part of the region’s cultural and educational landscape. Recognizing the need for a higher education institution in the area, the residents came together during the early nineties to establish Deomornoi Degree College in 1993.

The primary objective of Deomornoi Degree College is to provide quality higher education to aspiring students. Situated near the renowned Siala Vaishnab Temple, the college enjoys a picturesque setting on the banks of the historically significant Mornoi river. The sprawling college campus spans across 25 bighas of land and boasts essential infrastructural facilities.

Currently, the college caters to a student population of over 1084, supported by a dedicated staff of forty-six employees. Deomornoi Degree College has earned the prestigious permanent affiliation from Gauhati University. As a result, it has been granted permission to offer major courses in nearly all subjects of the arts stream. Additionally, the college provides Computer Application as a vocational subject, ensuring that students are equipped with practical skills aligned with the demands of the digital age.

In its pursuit of academic excellence, Deomornoi Degree College has also established a contact center for M.A. courses in various disciplines under the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) at Gauhati University. This initiative enables students to pursue higher education and specialization in their chosen fields, further expanding their knowledge and career prospects.
